My Drive Across the Country (SLC to Houston)

First leg of the trip revealed that "Footlose" was really filmed in Utah...
Here is the mill where Kevin Bacon worked in the movie...

Angular view of the beautiful Utah countryside on the way to I-70 via Price, Utah.

My smiling mug along with my whole wardrobe in the back seat.
Viva la roadtrip!
This is the notorious "No Name Exit"
(it's an urban myth that I'm starting)

The scenery in Colorado is incredible, however tunnels really limit the view...
One of the less famous viewpoints from which to see downtown Denver....
This was the most exciting thing I saw in about 4 hours of traveling through Kansas...
Keeping the sunset in my rear view mirror traveling East across the Great Plains...
Where I woke up on Day 2 about 9:00 AM after getting in at 2 AM...
(I know, it's fancy)
Oklahoma City here I come!
(The rain had different ideas)
This clearly says "Welcome to Oklahoma" (right?)
The wonder that is... Downtown Oklahoma City...
I don't know why I didn't think of 25 cent cologne dispensers like they have in the truckstop bathrooms in Oklahoma... I'm sure I'd be rich if I'd thought of it first!
Yeee Haaaaw! I made it to Texas...
Ran into crappy traffic 45 minutes before Dallas. Was this a bad omen or what?
Fortunately the traffic cleared up and I made it to Dallas unscathed...
Downtown Dallas before I turned my sites on Houston and finished up the trip...

  1. Looks like fun! Beware of Texans...I worked with a lot of them and I had to question their intelligence (sorry to all of you smart Texans out there). I did a road trip from Dallas to Cedar City but most of it was at night and we went the southern route thru New Mexico. Good luck in your new ventures!
